THE TEXAS STEEL GUITAR JAMBOREE

Busy Man!

Steel guitar player Albert Talley (left) "wears many hats" for the jamboree. He and his wife Debbie do a lot of work getting the show together and arranging the many things that happen along the way. Including (but not limited to) responding when there are technical difficulties or problems in the booth areas and on stage. Fortunately, he's also a great steel player and took care of the backup for Johnny Bush in addition to all his other activities. It was a good set and a real crowd pleaser.

Showman of the year
If we had the showman of the year award, Joe Wright would probably win every year. His outstanding mix of steel playing and comedy keeps the excitement high. This years set at the Texas Steel guitar Jamboree was even better than usual. The crowd was full of laughter with his antics and very pleased with his steel playing ability.  Though some are stunned on first experience when he can follow a Charlie Pride song with a hard rock number (each played with the correct feel for the music), he pleases the audience with his versatility. People who normally only focus on one form of music of another, find themselves enjoying a wider range of musical performance when Joe is on stage. Joe Wright sets are always appreciated, and surely keep things lively.
